We currently cover six operators: Viking, AmaWaterways, Avalon, Uniworld, Scenic and CroisiEurope. Every profile behind this list is built from what that operator publishes, with the page it came from and the day we read it attached to each statement.
No operator pays for a place on this list, or has any input into what is written about it.
The six operators
Publishes Seine, Rhône/Saône and Bordeaux programmes, and puts guided cycling and hiking inside the excursion menu rather than beside it.

How to read these profiles
Each profile opens with a verdict about who should shortlist the line, then an at-a-glance table of what that company publishes, then the case for and against it, then the ships and programmes we could verify.
Blank rows are the interesting ones
Where we could not verify a detail from an operator’s own material, the profile says so rather than treating a blank as “not included”. Four of these six say nothing about gratuities, because nothing the operator publishes settles it. That means “ask before you book”, not “excluded”.
Nothing is generalised between lines
If AmaWaterways publishes guided cycling and Viking publishes nothing about it, we do not conclude that Viking has no bicycles. We say we have no source, and we say it on Viking’s page. An absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, and turning one into the other is the most common way a comparison site becomes wrong.
There are no ratings
No stars, no scores out of ten, no “best for food”. We have no rating methodology, and publishing a number without one would be inventing authority. Where we express a view it is written as a sentence, attributed to us, and you can disagree with it.
